Will Stingray Die? by Jackie Brygel

TV Week, Australia, 10th March 2007

An unselfish act for Kerry could take the life of the Timmins boy!

Stingray didn't hesitate when told he was a suitable bone-marrow donor for his girlfriend Sky's baby daughter, Kerry, who is suffering from leukaemia. "Sky wasn't a compatible donor, but Stingray was," says Stephanie McIntosh, who plays the young Ramsay Street mum. This week, Stingray heads into the operating theatre. But Sky, who has been deeply touched by Stingray's (Ben Nicholas) unwavering support of her and Kerry, is horrified when the procedure goes unexpectedly wrong on the operating table!

While the doctors battle to save Stingray's life, Sky maintains an anxious vigil outside the operating theatre, along with Stingray's family. "They have to do more," cries his distraught mother, Janelle (Nell Feeney). "They can't just let him die!"

Before Stingray went into surgery, an anxious Sky held a commitment ceremony in the hospital, determined to show Stingray just how much she loves him. "I want to spend the rest of my life with you," she told him. Now there's a chance that life could be tragically taken away from Stingray...
